Iron Recommendations?
« on: June 13, 2006, 06:20:51 PM »
Our iron (for ironing clothes) is a piece of complete & total crap, so I'm going to buy a new one tomorrow -- probably from Argos.  Does anyone have any recommendations on a particular model or another?  Thanks! :)

ROWENTA!  I dunno if Argos carry them, but look into getting one.  I actually received one as a gift when I graduated from college.   :D

I have a Tesco Value iron that I've been using for 6 months now and it's just as good as my more expensive model back in the States.

I'll 2nd the ROWENTA!!  They are a bit pricey - but they are so nice and work so well.  It almost makes ironing clothes a pleasure instead of a chore!! ;D  I found mine for 20 pounds at a market.  It was brand new in the box - unopened.  The reason it was so cheap - it was an older model, perhaps a couple of years old.  So it had been sitting around for a while, but just like brand new!!  Usually they sell for around 45-60 pounds.  Happy ironing!

LOL - my husband laughed at me & said I was agonising more over what kind of iron to buy than I did over the decision to move here! :)

(I still haven't bought a new iron... :-[)

any particular rowenta model?

We bought ours at Argos, but I just checked the website and they dont sell our model anymore.  They have this one, but its pretty pricey!  But now that I think about it, we paid about £60 for ours..  Best iron ever!!
