Shipping Large Packages
« on: July 18, 2006, 02:24:01 AM »
Hello everyone. I haven't completed my move to England yet, but almost there. I am in a bit of a dilemma at the moment. My boyfriend had a car part shipped to me here in the US since the company wouldn't ship it to England. I was told by the company this part wasn't that big, but it's almost as tall as me and I'm five foot seven inches tall. It's super light, so weight isn't the issue. But now I'm panicking about how to send it to him. I don't think the post office will take it, and UPS gave me a price quote of $400 to ship it. Does anyone know of any other methods to ship it by? I'm just really hoping now the post office can do it, but I won't know till I talk to them tomorrow. Any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

The post office will only ship things of certain proportions.

We tried shipping our skis with them and  they were unable to do it so we ended up using FedEx which, obviously, cost more than the PO though I think they are cheaper than UPS.
