Guarantors
« on: July 20, 2006, 01:46:36 PM »
My friends have offered to be guarantors for me when I move in September. She brought up a good point though...does it make a difference that they're UK residents and not UK citizens? They're Irish, have been in the UK for one year, gainfully employed, and are in the process of buying a house.

Thanks!

Irish nationals have pretty much the same status in the UK as UK nationals.  If they have enough of a credit rating to be given a mortgage, then there should be no problem in them acting as guarantors with a prospective landlord.
