Hi Myoracle/Kal

Could you list the specific items needed to make your NTSC Plasma 'work' here? The manufacturer/model of each piece of hardware. Also the cost of each item and where you bought from, please! In addition, how much was it to ship the Plasma Panel and how did you ensure they only kept it upright? I think i remember seeing the packaging on a Plasma making it imperitive it was kept stored/moved in one direction only.

Pending this, I may just have to import a screen myself !

Cheers!

Dennis! West London & Slough UK!

you will need following items:

  • Satellite Systems  see this link below
         http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Order/Satellite-systems/FTA-Systems.htm
make sure the output of system will do NTSC
You can try to buy Satellite system here in UK , just make sure the video output is NTSC

  • 2000 watt transforma
I will recommand buying from USA or Paris or Bruxelles or third world country or :
in Morocco for transforma is $40
                 and satellite system is $70
and big dish is about $30
trip to Morocco is about 280 Euro with atlas blue
  • 2000 watt transforma
I will recommand buying from USA or thirs world country

PS : Dont buy HD TV .. Just simple plasma TV .. You will get Hotbird/Asta

You can find some poeple here in UK to give a code to see all the channels for FREE like SKY  ASP.....

If you have a fixed dish aimed at the common (for the U.K.) 28 deg. east position, you'll be able to receive anything from Astra 2A/2B/2D & Eurobird 1 which is listed as unscrambled (symbol "F") on this list:

http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html

There are other channels which can be received without a monthly subscription, but they are scrambled, so you need a "free" decoder card, such as the one supplied with the FreeSat package from Sky TV:

http://www.freesatfromsky.com/?pID=3

If you ask me, scrambling a service which has no subscription charge anyway is pretty daft, but then the whole TV business has become something of a three-ring circus lately.....   (Until a short while ago even the "free" BBC services were scrambled on the Astra satellites!)
