Hi everybody.
I don't tend to post here very much, but I lurk a lot. I moved to the UK to marry a Brit last year, and second only to the weather, the hoops you have to jump through to drive here have taken me the most by surprise. I do love it here and am very happy, but want to have continued independent mobility, and am worried about passing the practical test!
I've just *today* passed my driving theory test, finally, on the third try. Don't get me started about the hazard perception thing. It is unfair crap, and worse it is crap that delayed me for weeks and cost way too much money. So my ability to drive on my US licence here expires at the beginning of November, since that's when I entered the country last year. I have a US car and motorcycle licence, and have opted to go for just the bike licence for now since that's what my husband and I have and it's easier to have a bike here than a car, IMO.
But...I haven't much time left, and will probably only get one shot at the practical test. Does anybody have any tips on passing the motorcycle test? All the info I can find online seems to be entirely car-specific, and I would really like to go into it feeling prepared since I know it will be a challenge. Would hate to fail as I'm not sure what I'd do then. We have a 500cc bike which I am not sure I'd even be able to take my test on after the year is up (but unclear on the rules there...maybe I could because I'm over 21?).
Thanks in advance for any help.
