I thought I had my wedding colors picked out years and years ago as most girls do but when I met dh that all changed. We wanted something that signified the unity between us so we chose the colors, white, blue, and red. Yes, I stated it that because when you say red, white, and blue everyone thinks patrioticly (?) and we didn't want any element of stars or stripes in our wedding. Just the common colors. There were 2 places we incorporated the flag for our wedding. One was on the flagpole outside the reception hall so people arriving knew that was the place and the other was on our wedding cake topper. I actually bought a decent wedding cake topper and doctored it up a little to fit our colors. I painted the flowers the bride was holding red, blue, and white, and the flower the guy was wearing on his lapel the same color dh was going to wear. On the topper behind the bride and groom, I placed wee little flags. Around the 4th of July I found some american flags on toothpicks and used that. It was easy enough to find a clip art flag of the Union Jack and hotglue it on another toothpick. I ended up hotgluing the small flags on the wedding cake topping and it turned out perfectly!! Everything turned out wonderfully and we were so very happy with it all. It was beautiful!!
