New Years Travel within 2-4 hours NYC?
« on: September 26, 2006, 09:56:37 PM »
i head back to the US (NJ to be exact) on 15-Dec.  my boyfriend joins me on 26-dec.  we're both in the US until 5-Jan.

last year when he came we went to NYC and went to Philly.

looking to go somewhere within 3 hour flight leaving new years eve or new years day and back 3 or 4 jan.

ideas include: boston, chicago, washington dc, and his favorite bermuda.  any other choices i'm missing?

Florida? South Carolina?  Atlanta?

Of course my vote would be Chicago, hands down.   ;)

new orleans?  cold that time of year?  i bet they have a great new years party though.

the boy's leaning def towards someplace warm- i've only ever been to naples & key west in florida.  any insight?  is there much to do in jacksonville?  tampa?  ft. lauderdale?

Charleston SC...but stay on Kiawah Island.  Just got back two weeks ago and LOVED it!!

If you want to head to FL you could always try Destin which is on the Gulf Coast.  We lived there for 2 years but it's not incredibly warm at the time of the year.  I think if you want the warmer weather you'd be better off much further south.
