Where to go?
« on: October 28, 2006, 07:49:36 PM »
We just spent 3 days in Lucca. If you want delicious food, beautiful sites with a lovely bike ride along city walls, it is just perfect. There are inexpensive flights to Pisa and then just less than an hour bus ride to this lovely town. Most of the those flying with us went onto Florence which is of course wonderful but if you are looking for a bit quieter and self-contained...I recommend Lucca! :)    Where do you recomend???????

Some friends of mine went to Lucca last month and looooved it. They stayed at some monastery out in the middle of nowhere. I saw their photos the other night and they were to die for!  :)

I just went to Prague.  It is an amazing city, I'm so glad i went.  We signed up for a walking tour online and it just so happened we had a tour guide all to ourselves.  We went on his tour of the Jewish quarter the next day and had him to ourselves then too!  I learned a lot about Eastern European history, architecture, and Jewdaism.

We also went to the Czech National Opera and saw a Dvorak opera.  We had a box to ourselves.  It was magical.

the only thing I would do differently, is plan an excursion outside of the city.  It was packed with tourists and would have been nice to get away.

Riding the rollercoaster of life without a seat belt!
