Leasing a Car
« on: November 07, 2006, 04:10:39 PM »
Any one have experience with leasing a car in the UK? My family and I are moving to London with my job in Jan 2007 for 3 years. I will get a car allowance (no option to get a company car) and I don't want to buy. Given that I don't have any credit history in the UK, I assume this will be an issue?

Anyone out there that has leased a car under similar circumstances?

My husband has a car allowance and it's our name on the lease, but it was all handled through his company.  They had a list of preferred dealers and we simply called the one that had the car we wanted, filled out some paperwork, and they delivered the car to us.  No apparent issues at our lack of credit history.  It sounds like a bit different than your situation, but maybe someone at your company could give you more details on how you should go about it?
