I'll be in the US from 13th December to 27th December!  I'm taking the train down to London then flying to NYC on Wednesday the 13th, staying with my sister there until Friday the 15th, then flying to Atlanta.  I'll be in Georgia through Boxing Day then am flying back to NYC and then on to London on the 27th, arriving on the 28th and taking the train back to Middlesbrough.  It's all very convoluted....but at least this time I'm flying Virgin!  ;D

I'm very excited to see my family, but I am not at ALL excited about the part where Chris won't be coming with me - he has to work the 15th through the 19th and the 23rd through the 26th. :( That part's going to suck, but it's for the best in the end - Chris works shifts, and nobody wants to swap at Christmastime, so he'll be working anyway, and having her girls at home for Christmas is very important to my mom (this year is the tenth anniversary of the first Christmas after my grandparents - her parents - died), so that's where I'll be!

I'll be back in time for NYE...except that Chris'll be between day shifts that night and so he'll be asleep by 9pm (he has to get up at 5am!).  Woe.

Spending my first Christmas in the UK up at the in-laws in the Worcestershire countryside. I'm looking forward to it, but it will definitely be different! Mostly I'm excited to finally spend a Christmas with my husband. That is one holiday we have never spent together after being together for 5 1/2 years! It will be fun to buy decorations for our flat, and start a few traditions of our own.

I only arrived in the UK at the end of October, so it doesn't really make sense to go back for a visit as soon as Christmas. I am looking into a possible trip home in June for my college reunion and a cousin's wedding.

We always (so far anyway) spend Christmas with hubby's family here in the UK.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

We're staying in the UK.  My mom will be here next week and will be staying for 8 weeks.  I can't wait until next year.  We will be home and will have a good old Chicago Christmas with plenty of snow.

Staying here in London for our first Thanksgiving and Christmas just the two of us.  It's nice not to have to worry about travelling and visiting both sets of families.

I'll be here in the US for Christmas for only the 2nd time in 6 years. For Christmases 2001-2004 I was in England with my boyfriend. It'll be good to spend my last Christmas for awhile here with my mum, but my sister is in the Army and it'll be her first Christmas away, so not quite the same.

Spending a wonderful Christmas in Chicago with my parents, husband, sister, brother in law, nieces, nephew, and best of all, my sister-in-law and her daughter!  She has recently broken up with her partner of 7 years and she usually spends Christmas with him and his family.  She was very unhappy and unsure about what to do this year and we offered to fly them both out to spend the holiday with us.  It's going to be great!!

I leave on 18 December (DH leaves on 6 December - blah) and we return on 30 December.  We are staying at the O'Hare Hilton the night before our flight since it leaves so darn early.  ;)

We're staying here and having our quiet Christmas alone, the way we like it.  :)
After the New Year we will go to Sweden and see Peter's parents. They ask us everytime we speak if we are 'sure' we don't want to come for Christmas... couldn't be more sure!

You're so lucky.  Give that great big beautiful town a kiss for me. ;-)

Second year back in the U.S. with family since 1998.  Ehh.. we'll see how it goes.  Not particularly close to my own family.  Last year was also spent in the U.S. but on the other side of the country with friends, living in a different state.

I leave NJ on Dec. 16th and I don't have to return until Jan. 6th!  ;D  I can't wait!  So far I know we'll be up in Teddington on Christmas Eve, and I am assuming at Robert's sister's on Christmas Day & Boxing Day.  Haven't met his sister & her family yet, so I'm a bit nervous about that.

Robert is supposed to be planning a surprise "holiday" trip for us while I'm there.  4-5 days somewhere and I'm not going to know where until we leave.  I have already instructed him that he needed to give me advanced warning on what to pack or else he's going to have to take me shopping. (fingers crossed he forgets  ;))
