Need your input and advice, please.

Hello all !

I hope everyone had a nice turkey day.

Right, will make this as short as possible.  My husband and I were married in the states in April of 2005.  On 15th May of 05, I was issued a 2-year spouse visa to live in the UK.  This is up for renewal on 15th May of 2007, of course.  Shortly after getting the visa, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  After careful consideration, we decided that I would get my treatment in the states.  My husband did a lot of back and forth visiting during my treatment.  When I was stong enough, I made my first visit to the UK in April of 06 and only for two weeks to move some stuff here.  I then didn't move permanently until 4th Oct 2006 when my treatment was all finished...surgeries and all.  I'm fine now, but my question is this:  How will this affect my permanent visa when I go to renew it next Spring.  What should I be prepared for?

I have a job, bank account, and my NIN is in process.

Thank you all in advance!

You should be prepared for having to renew it, and not being eligible for ILR, but other than that I see no problems.

To be honest, because of the mitigating circumstances, I think there is a chance you may be issued with ILR anyway.

Thanks Vicky!  Puts my mind at rest a bit.
