What's the last thing you baked?
« on: January 25, 2007, 01:41:27 AM »
Inspired by all the other "what's the last thing..." threads and that fact i love what i just baked, tell us "What is the last thing you baked"

I just made a two layer white cake with orange marmalade instead of icing in-between the layers and then rich chocolate frosting on the top and sides.  Sort of a Jaffa cake inspired creation.  So yummy, I am having a hard time not just standing in front of it with a fork ;)

Big family dinner tonight...I baked corn bread, lemon bars, and mango bars.
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

Someone gave me Monkey Bread Mix for a Christmas gift.  It was a joke because BF calls me Little Monkey...ANYWAY I made it on Sunday and it was gross!

I have flapjack with cranberries in the oven right now. Smells so good. My mother-in-law is coming down later, and she loves the stuff.

I baked corn bread a couple of weeks ago.  I think I'm going to make the cookie recipe that was in the Guardian mag last weekend. Might get round to it next week sometime.

Last night we had baked pork chops, but I'm not sure that counts.  Otherwise, it'd be southern biscuits.  I want to try to bake some bread this weekend, but we'll see if I feel inspired!

Oh yes I forgot I baked some ciabatta bread last week! it was from a bread mix through, not from scratch.

Scones.  They're so darn easy...one of few things I can't screw up.

pumpkin bread - a mix my Mom had sent me from Williams Sonoma.  I also made one of their mixes at Christmas - an eggnog streusel cake with a rum glaze - SO good!!!!!
