« on: February 14, 2007, 10:04:33 AM »
...for one piece of home exercise equipment.. within a reasonable size (we dont have room for a treadmill, nor would one be in our budget right now) and price (not over £100).
what would you recommend? and why? :) i'm looking for something to do at home on non-gym days :)

thanks!!:)  :D

Hmm.  I'm not sure, but things that come to mind are weight sets (small & large) from argos or similar, excercise ball (argos, boots, those bad boys are all over the place), a small trampoline (fun...and bouncy!  and fun!), some really good trainers (walk, run, limp!), or a bicycle.  Or some combination of all of those things.

Good luck with your exercising!

I agree with Wench.  All of the above!  Also fitness dvd's, try amazon.co.uk for reviews.   ;D

Sunscreen, exercise and drinking lots of water. And not smoking.

Oh, right.

I love the idea of a small trampoline; I've wanted one of those!  I would think it might be easier to store away than an excercise ball as well.. ???

That's a very good point. I finally deflated our exercise ball 'cause there was just no place to keep it. I've got one of those things that Amy mentioned and I do like it - it's nice and quiet so it's easy to use in front of the telly....

thanks everyone for your recommendations!

i got my hula hoop out of the shed yesterday (much to mine and calvin's delight!) and had a go and was actually decent! (so i'll start doing that 10 minutes a day to start, too!)

i'm leaning towards the mini trampoline and lateral thigh trainer now, since they have to be easy to store as well!!

I really like resistance tubes. They don't take up much space and you can take them with you if you're travelling.

We store the excercise ball under the dining room table.  At least we used to.  I think the cat may have found it, because I haven't seen it in some time.  :O

A Club Step, a set of dumbbells and some good combined aerobics and weight training DVDs, such as Cathe Friedrich or the Firm.
