housing question
« on: February 14, 2007, 03:15:04 PM »
Hello all, I received a month long fellowship to study at Cambridge and am setting over the pond in a month.  Does anyone know of any links or have any tips for renting a room for such a short amount of time?  So far I've had no luck looking and am starting to get a little nervous.  Thanks much!

You can try www.gumtree.com, either just browse or put up an ad yourself! Or you can check with the university to see if they offer any short-term accommodation options for you.  People may have posted room for rent posters at Cambridge, which you wouldn't be able to see..as you are not there!

Good luck!

I used this site when I first moved to Bath - http://uk.easyroommate.com/
And I second the idea of the university's accomodation office.

My cousin helps run this website: http://www.starflats.co.uk/.  (Sorry for the shameless plugging.)  But they do offer short-term housing and there is flat share available in Cambridge.

Congrats & good luck!
