Well, I'm not
attending yet but I'm applying to at least Westminster and LSE for Fall 2009. Last year, while I was still in high school, I applied to the Uni of Manchester for Russian and Japanese. I didn't accepted my place there because I didn't want to choose Russian over Japanese, which I've been taking for three years already.
Applying there...was interesting. I wasn't used to using UCAS but it's quite handy and is quite similar to the Common Application in the US. I spent a long time writing my Personal Statement, about a couple of months
I ordered a Prospectus and read it through. I sent a BUNCH of emails to universities all over the UK
Sending them documents like my transcript was bothersome. American University (in DC) got my transcript quickly and informed me of so, but I never got such notice from Manchester. I figured that the post would take longer internationally than domestically obviously but eventually I had to fax my stuff there. I had to call them and ask where to fax it and also pay to send my ACT scores and my AP scores...but otherwise I had no problems with applying to Manchester.
