plane ticket prices for children...

...at what age is a child's ticket price the same as an adult's? or does it vary company to company? thanks:)

With companies like EasyJet, Ryan Air and BA Connect once they turn 2 they are charged the same as adult.

But I think with intercontinental flights the age is up to 12 but I would check on the airlines website.

it would be for an international flight..i looked on BA.com and for me and my son (who'll be 3 in the autumn when i would like to visit) it's looking like over £1,000 but i just wanted an idea of what prices i would be looking at... i haven't checked elsewhere yet. (and needing a direct flight doesn't help much, but no way i'm transferring with a toddler and all the stuff that comes with them! and me!)

That's what I've heard. To the airlines, a butt in a seat is a butt in a seat. They charge full price because they don't care about being reasonable. Grr!

Check on Virgin Atlantic.  I just did a quick search and I found £985 (or book from the US site with $985 and save because the pound is so much stronger) for both of you with all taxes and such included.  But, I don't know where you are going to or when but I put the dates as October.

(presuming you need a US credit card to book it though?) must look into that..that would be a hell of a savings!

Children travelling on British Airways longhaul flights are charged at 75% of the adult fare. Infants travelling without occupying a seat pay only 10% of the ticket price (one infant per adult).
Infants travelling occupying their own seat are charged at the child rate (75% of the adult fare).

Children are defined as those passengers in the age group 2-11years inclusive, and infants as those passengers under 2years old at the time of travel.

DF booked a flight out of London on the US site and paid in dollars.  Saved him a bundle considering it was taken out of his British account!  This was several months ago, so you might want to call to check.

BMI charged full fare for Ethan aged 2 because he had his own seat.

Look at places like cheaptickets.co.uk or travelocity.co.uk
I think they're 18.

We bought tickets a while ago on BMI and if we bought a seat, we paid full price, regardless of how old the person in that seat was.  We bought a seat for our 8 year old and our will-be 1 year old, both at full price.
