Beetroot

I haven't seen any beetroot at my Sainsburys.  Only the stuff thats already cooked and loads of them pickled in jars.  I forgot to look at Fresh & Wild last weekend, and I'll check the veggie guy on Monday.

Anyone seen them at Sainsburys or Tesco here?  I have been looking for months!  I really want to make a roasted beetroot salad! 

I just bought beetroot at Sainsbury's on Monday - it's the kind that's vacuum sealed in a plastic sort of container?  It's not pickled or cooked or anything.  I get the totally fresh beets at Waitrose - the ones with the stems and peel still on them.

Thanks for the reply Geeta, I've bought the vacuum sealed ones but I'm looking for the fresh beets, like you got from Waitrose.  I'll check Fresh & Wild, I think they'll have them!

I just love beets, especially roasted!

I've seen the fresh ones at Tesco, but didn't look the last time I was there. I know our greengrocer always has them, though.
