is this an odd thing to eat???
« on: April 17, 2007, 09:18:29 PM »
I'm putting this out to vote as my boyfriend thought I was highly strange...

....chilli heat wave doritos to dip into cool salsa - yum, yum!!!

He couldn't understand why I was dipping them in salsa seeing as they were already flavoured...confused??? Yes he was!!!  :-\\\\

I'd love to hear your views.....is it a yay or nay?

Doesn't sound that weird to me although I prefer the plain ones myself.

Sounds perfectly normal to me.

Nachos here are basically doritos anyway (I actually couldn't stand the real nachos/tortillas they served in Central America when I visited the other month) - I dip almost anything I can find into into salsa and creamy dips (salt and vinegar Pringles, any flavour of Walker's crisps, etc.)!

Hi Stella Marie....I was so close to getting the sour cream out too!!!

When DN pointed out how weird it was to be dipping flavoured doritos into salsa, I did point out that it wasn't far off nachos....he was having none of it!!!!

Thanks folks for making me feel like my eating habits are "normal"... ;D

Sorry, I'm with your boyfriend...although, is he British?  'Cuz I find that the British will dip any flavor chips into any kind of dip!  And I don't get it either - to me if they're already flavored, then they don't need a dip.   ;D

I do the same thing but with the Lime flavored Doritos and it started from having them at various Mexican restaurants in the US.

Cool Ranch doritos with sour cream - yum.

Now, I don't think I would be dipping my smoky bacon crisps into salsa - but ranch dip, maybe! (Hmmmm never thought of that til now, could be good?)

Last time I went to the states they had guacamole flavored doritos!! I would totally dip those into salsa, sour cream AND guacamole.

Okay, now you all are making me hungry!! I love Doritos!!!!

The bestest ever were the Salsa Rio ones, though, and I don't think they make them anymore  :\\\'(  But I like the lime ones too!! YUMMY!

My very most favourite Doritos EVER were the Taco ones, but they haven't made them for years.  I really like the Black Pepper Jack ones, but will have to wait for a visit back to the States (or a visitor FROM the States!) before I can have any...
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

Yep usuk2004 this is what DN said too (he's American)...nothing I said would change his mind, wouldn't even entertain the possibility of trying it!!!

Never thought of dipping doritos in guacamole.....oh yum, yum, how nice would that be???
I haven't seen any guacamole in the supermarket to buy though.....does anyone know if you can buy it? Or am I just not paying enough attention when I go shopping???  :-\\\\
Wow, can't wait to get to the states if they sell guacamole flavour doritos - they would be nice dipped in salsa and sour cream (together)...."oooooo, **dribble, dribble**".
Thanks Stella Marie for putting that delightful food thought in my head!!!  ;D

I never said I wouldn't try it. I said I wasn't goint out of my way to try it. Get it straight, ha ha ha.

I still think it's weird.

When I get there I'll see if I can find a Guacamole recipe and make some for you. Provided of course we can get avacados. And I have seen Guac flavored Doritos here.

Cheers,

Doug
