Toaster Ovens
« on: April 19, 2007, 09:33:48 PM »

I looked a while ago for one but all I could find was one online (I have never seen them in a store) anyway, the model was white and looked really cheap then I found really nice one but it was over £100. Obviously they are not popular in the UK and I have learned to live without but I would love to have find a decent one at a reasonable price.

Does anyone have one over here?

I have this one:

£80 - might be a bit more than you're looking for but certainly under £100 and it works really well, nice crome/retro design.

Have you tried searching for something other than "toaster oven"? Like the one I have is called "Table Top Oven" and I've seen others labeled "Mini Oven". There's a bit more options on Amazon.co.uk if you search for those.

I was always surprised at how expensive they were.
I walked past a second hand shop one day and in the window was this old toaster oven, maybe about 10 years old, with a big sign on it says £60!

I might think about getting that 1 especially since it is a Tefal & a great price. I never had any problems with any of my Tefal products back home.  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Many thanks for the link Meggles! Excellent....just the right price since we are thinking about a possible move back to the states this year so don't want to go OTT price wise.

OMG...cheese on toast, I haven't had that in almost 4 yrs! I would be in heaven.....:)

Yes it does but I never thought about using it to grill toast. Thanks for the tip.  :)

Can I just chip in with the idea of making grilled cheese sandwiches on a George Foreman grill...they are just perfect!

I've never used mine for grilled cheese! Is it very messy?

Not at all.  Just make the sandwich and close it and grill away.  No mess at all.
