Hawthorne tree puncture wound
« on: April 28, 2007, 01:04:23 AM »
I was helping a friend trim a hawthorne tree today and as careful as I was, I still got stuck twice. These darn thorns were huge!!

Both sticks were in my left hand, one thorn went in on the top right along one of the bones and the other in my thumb.  I thought my hand was just sore from getting stuck and didn't think the thorns had went in that deep, but now the top of my hand is swelling and hard. I can see where the thorn went in and don't think any of it broke off, but my hand is getting progressively more tender. The fingers on that side of my hand are getting harder to work and it feels like I've smashed my hand.  :\\\'(

Anyone ever had this happen or know what I should do. I'm really hoping it doesn't get much worse.

Have you had a tetanus shot?  Might be an idea to call your doctor and get one.
