fruit salad is tedious, but it's always popular.
At work we do filled baguettes, cut into smaller sizes.

stuffed mushroom caps might be a good veg idea.

you could try a spinach dip, too, with various crudites.

I second the spinach dip, great with a bit of sweet bread if you can find it

I have a sort of odd recipe for meatballs you can do in the slow cooker if you want it, really good.

Meatballs, yes please!

Ohh, I love spinach dip, I used to do one in the US, so good.

I did another dip that was in a pumpernickel bread bowl, but doubt I can get that here. (I've looked)  It's actually my moms and so so good made with caviar.

I've done that hot spinach/artichoke dip here and everyone has raved about it!

This sounds like a recipe I need! Please?

I think I should do it then.  Which recipe did you use?

I'll get it from my mom when she is back from DC ;D

Thinking about it now, not sure if you can get everything in the UK you'd need, but the meatballs I've done are the following, sounds weird, but really, really good.

I use frozen meatballs, but you could make your own if you had the time. Frozen ones are much easier

Mix up one jar of pineapple ice cream topping or pineapple preserves
one bottle of bbq sauce, whatever is your fav
1 cup brown sugar

Pour over meatballs and cook in slow cooker until heated through. The longer they cook, the better they get.

They end up with a nice tangy flavor and kids usually love them, adults too.

Spinach and artichoke is so yummy. Great with tortilla chips by the way, especially if you heat the chips up just a bit in the oven.

Hmmm, I wonder if you can get the pineapple topping here.  My husband would love these!!!! (So would I!)

I love the dip with tortilla chips.  We get the dip at Houston's and they serve it like that.

I do a famous party dish which everyone goes crazy for...people invite me to their parties just for this dish..it is...(drumroll please) artichoke dip!!!

So its simple...(done in a Gordon Ramsay F word Style)

Tins of artichoke Heart (2)
Drain
Blitz in food processor until coarse and choppy
Mix
Equal Amounts of Mayo and Sour Cream (1/2 cup each)
Mix
Parmesean Cheese (grated)
Mix until lumpy
Ovenproof dish
HEAT until warm

Pita Breads.
Halve so they look like 2 pitas
Olive Oil...Brush
Cajun Spices.
Shake
Oven. Bake. until crunchy

Serve.

Well, its not a science. But google artichoke dip...its a winner!!
