Looking for advice about Putney
« on: May 24, 2007, 09:04:18 PM »
OK, I know I have bugged you all incessantly about London neighborhoods :D...does anyone live in or near Putney?  We found a school there (Prospect House School) that has room for all 3 of my school-age lovelies, and I'm wondering about the surrounding neighborhood.  The school is very close to Putney Heath.

Thanks again for the help!

Hi Have you looked at the website newcomer link: http://www.PutneySW15.com [nonactive] - the member sare usually very co-operative with their tips for schools shops builders etc..
I have friends with kids at Prospect House (including a god-daughter and they certainly seem very happy there. :)
Welcome to Putney!

The areas you've asked about are all really close to each other!  One area that friends highly recommended to us was Barnes.  We ended up in Chiswick as Barnes was a bit far from the highway and didn't have a tube station.  VERY nice area, though... and next door to Putney.

Isn't Barnes very expensive? We'd love to live there because the Swedish school is there but I don't think we can afford it.

It's cheaper than Chiswick and Richmond...

If you'd like to be close but spend a bit less, maybe Acton or Ealing?  It'll mean a 20 minute drive or so, though.
