I banned sulfur dioxide and sulfites from my diet a couple of years ago. Mostly I was getting them in "healthy" foods: dried fruit, fruit spread sweetened with white grape juice, bottled lemon juice, etc. I dropped 15 pounds in the first two months after I cut out the sulfites and felt a lot better. One thing I like about the UK is that they seem to use fewer additives--it's much easier to find things without preservatives, artificial colors, etc. I'm very glad to hear that the supermarkets are heading even more in that direction.
