Cheez whiz, kind of....
« on: June 08, 2007, 08:23:03 PM »
Was at Tesco tonight and saw a plastic bottle that was orange and said "American Squeeze Cheese".  It was from Wisconsin.  It had a picture of a hamburger on the front.

To me, it looked like what would be Cheez Whiz in America.  So if anybody is craving that or missing it, may want to scout out Tesco for this squeeze bottle of thick cheese.

I didn't buy but now I'm wishing I did just to see what it was.

LOL!  I love that it was called American Squeeze Cheese.

I used to have it in camp, it was one of those sought after items that you would never eat in real life (I hadn't at least) but had to have for your Ritz crackers on visiting day.  Oh it was always heaven :P

As a kid, I used to love the stuff you bought in a big fat tube (think like an extra-large-fat sausage encased in plastic) - it came in garlic, bacon, and other flavors, with a little hole for squeezing out the cheese. ;)  Not sure what the brand was, but we called it squeeze cheese!  And ate it with our Ritz.

Wait...is it like Cheez Whiz (comes in a jar) or EZ Cheez (comes in a can with a plastic nozzle you use to spray it onto Triscuits)?? Two totally different entities.... Cheez Whiz = yuk, EZ Cheez = yum. I especially love the bacon flavored one!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

It's in a plastic squeezy bottle.
