I'll never forget the laugh I got the first time I told Kevin that I prefer my bangs longer and I don't like them too short!  :o

Bangs is one of those words that I've not been able to lose.  I only get my hair cut every couple of months, so I don't have to refer to a 'fringe' that often.  Bangs just naturally slips out.

On the other hand, words like rubbish or 'tea' (for dinner) I use almost daily and have been easy to remember.

Fringe does sound nicer than bangs,, but, bangs they will probably remain for me too,, even if I have let mine grow to chin length. Thanks to this thread, I am considering taking a chop to them again :)

Don't do it! :P I just gave in the other day and chopped mine off. I can't seem to get past the eye poking stage. :-/ If I could get them as far as my chin again I'd never cut them again. Yeah right..I say that every time. ::)

And I think I'll probably always say bangs..fringe makes me think of something on a rug or curtain. :P

Melissa, I think this is the first time EVER that I havn't had bangs. I have never been patient enough to grow them out. I have discovered that I have a forehead big enough to show home movies on too LOL. Ok, will let them keep growing,, but if the chop bug bites,, I can't be held responsible :)

I laughed so hard when I read this thread....I recently got bangs again and told my bf that I had changed my look and got bangs. He sat on the other end of the phone for the longest time, until he finally asked what the he** I was talking about?!

Oh, my! I was reading this thread today and had assumed Mr Snupy had read it at some point, so I started talking about how funny I thought it was. I got the same response-silence on the other end of the phone. I think if I had said "bangs" one more time, he would've lost it!(and I had to explain what they were, of course) ;D

This was definitely one we hadn't discovered before!

I am a confirmed bangs forever woman.  I can't say fringe with a straight face and feel as though I am forcing it out.  But I am weird about them.  When I was younger they were to my chin, they hid me from the world, I was terminally shy.  And now, if they hit my eye lashes they drive me nuts.  I get in bad moods and shake my head alot to get them out of my eyes.  People must think I am possessed.  Or looney.  So I try to get them cut every 6 weeks.  Lately I got my haired chopped, short, and I love it.  So it is off to the hairdressers soon for a trim before I walk down the road cussing to myself and shaking my head every few steps.  I must look like I have Tourettes, LOL.

I say fringe!
After 18 years in the UK, 'bangs' just sounds strange and foreign to me!
I'm 40 now and have had a fringe since i was about 8... i decided last year to grow it out, and i have finally got it to the stage where i can tuck the fringe behind my ears, so i guess i officially dont have a fringe anymore!  :)
