what's good about American partners
« on: March 09, 2004, 08:15:16 PM »
This might just be a purely personal list but would be interesting if any of the characteristics and likings push through onto others lists.  Also I have been playfully taking a little swipe at Americans recentl and I would like to even the score a bit.  (and try get a few brownie points back with HG after she found out about Valentines day).

1, They are kind enough to like us for who we are (bad jokes are insaine ability to find double entendre's everywhere).

2, They have that "come and have a go if you think your hard/smart/stupid enough"

3, They are beautifull not only to the eye but to the soul ( gotta be a brownie point)

4, They thrive on 2 lettuce leaves and a cup of water a day (but this one might be rabbits)

5, They care enough to remember all the little things

6, They are intelligent (people who think Americans are stupid are very wrong they just live in a country that is way to big for their news to carry many world events.)

7, If you want a loving strong affectionate partner that can communicate with you on your own level (and can't afford the vets bills for a labrador  ;D ).  Then an American woman is the way to go they are the best (and they know it  ;D ).

Obviously your choices may be a little different due to the fact I have got the best of all the American women (another brownie point) but give it a go.  ;D

Kissup. ;D

That was sweet, zap-especially coming from you. Then again, you did have some making up to do, didn't you? ;)

My theory is that American woman are unappreciated here(especially with the pressure to look like models), and Brits are unappreciated there. That's why there are so many trans-atlantic relationships. In my limited experience, Brit men know how to treat a lady. Period. Plus we're suckers for the accent!

Are you all suckers for our accents as well??

I was more worried about understanding than the actual 'music' of the accent!

ZAP ~ And you said that I had gone soft for my Valentine Day antics!

However, I do realise you've got a lot of creeping up to do after some on the joking stuff you've said, but really! :P

I should also warn people that one of your so called 'good points' about American partners "caring enough to remember the little things" ~ Well believe me that one can come back to bite you!  Mine, unfortunately remembers EVERYTHING not just the "little things"! [smiley=smart.gif]

And I hope that now you've repaired some of the 'damage' you've done you will return to your 'normal' self!

PS. HG seems a very understanding and nice lady, but I'm not sure about your claim that she is the best cos mine's a good one too![smiley=heart.gif]

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm sorry to sink your boat gents but i have the best american as my wife. :P

She makes me more tea than is drunk in the rest of America on a daily basis, and may i add that also includes my first cuppa of the day in bed. 8)

She is very thrifty and watches what she spends (thats good) without being frugal.

There is always a cooked meal waiting when i get in from work.

She is very affectionate all the time except when im in the dog house ;D

All round she is just a very very nice person and i wondered how i managed before she came into my life.   It is i think the best thing that happened to me for many many years.

   So you see i have the No.1    ;) :) :P

Everyone has been suspicously quiet about American HUSBANDS, which is of course not surprising as I have the best one !

I judge American husbands (e.g. my brother-in-laws) solely on their ability to throw a decent curveball. What else matters?

well i don't know if its a coicidence if my partner is american or not but it wouldn't matter where she came from as shes one of a kind , and i hope she knows it. well as for being american , i love the little things she says that stick out when she talks to me  like if i wanna get "gas " for the car and i love it when she tries to correct my pronuciation etc.  i also love the way this past visit to me she has been picking up scottish words , [smiley=heart.gif] [smiley=heart.gif] its so cute when she refers to things as "wee" ...lol one of the other good things is all the little treats that we both take for granted and sharing them , she brings me twinkies and i buy her jaffa cakes , its like discovering all your favourite stuff all over. i love the way we both have different cultures to share  [smiley=mickey.gif](ok so the uk is very much like the us but there are differences). oh i nearly forgot the best thing about my american partner and thats shes mine [smiley=iloveyou.gif]
