HELP ASAP-London Driving Rules
« on: March 10, 2004, 05:07:29 PM »
Hey we need to go to the Embassy tomorrow as soon as we arrive at Gatwick.  Any ideas if we will be able to drive into the city with the new circulation rules?

The Embassy is within the Congestion Charge area.  That would be your first concern, because you don't want to start off with Congestion Charge problems!

Thought - Central London is *much* better by public transport than by car.  However, if you "must" drive, the underground car park at the top of Park Lane, just to the south of Marble Arch and underneath Hyde Park is not far from the embassy and just outside the conjestion zone.  Excuse the brevity of the answer - we're in the Netherlands at the moment on a hotel-prices dial in line!

I'd go by public transport too if I were you.  The Gatwick Express goes into Victoria from the airport, and then it's an easy ride on the underground from there.

Thamks...we actually have three suitcases so lugging those on public transport is a problem in and of it's self.

ARG!

Got to run for flight!!!

Hugs!

Another vote for the Gatwick express,, and have a safe journey!!

I can't remember any parking at all in the vicinity of the Embassy. That would be my main worry.

I figured that's why you were questioning driving.  Graham's suggestion is the best, then.
