What do you like for breakfast?

Are you a breakfast person?

It's usually my favorite meal but I'm getting tired of my usual choices for the weekday: cereal or toast with something on it. I don't like to cook my breakfast during the week that often. Weekends are another story as I'm happier to spend time fixing something nice.

What do you like for breakfast?

Weekdays: if I have them on hand, homemade bagels with cream cheese and tomato is my favorite but I don't make the bagels that often. A close second is toast with peanut butter and banana.

Weekends: Too many things to choose from but I do love a full English and I also love pancakes with blueberries or even syrup and bacon on the side. But I could go on and on here!

I am never up early enough for breakfast anymore.  However, when I was in the Navy, i always had breakfast on the days I worked, mostly because I had to be at work at 6:30am and there was no way I would make it to lunch without anything in my stomach.  I got it from the galley and it was probably one of the most unhealthy breakfast you could have but oh so good!

Sometimes we do breakfast on the weekends (brunch really) and it consists of srambled eggs, streaky bacon and french toast made with brioche and swimming in maple syrup.  My husband loves it!  Nothing like an all American breakfast!

Greek yogurt with fresh sliced strawberries and a dollop of good strong honey.

i wake up because i am hungry.  i need to eat within 20 mins of waking up.

weekdays- bagel, toast, cereal, tea.
weekends- waffles, pancakes, omlette, muffins (bisquick or cornbread)

If you harbour bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

Can't eat it during the week - get up too early to commute, so I usually have something like a piece of fruit or cereal/granola bar once I get in.  And I get orange juice from the sandwich guy who comes to the office every day.

Weekends, though - I make like a short order cook!  This weekend it was fried eggs for me and the husband, scrambled for the boys; bacon for youngest son, black pudding (from the butcher) for the rest of us; chips (because the shop was out of hash browns); and toast.  Would have had beans, too, but we weren't that hungry.   ;)   :D

I used to get up too early to eat as well. But I would eat once I got to work as I have to have something substantial or my blood sugar drops. I worked for a Uni attached to a hospital and the cafeteria there was really good. It was usually a bagel with low fat cream cheese and fruit salad.

I like real food for breakfast.  When we were younger we used to stay with my grandparents on a lake and we'd have panfried fish for breakfast (if we caught any the day before).  Trout, bass, bullhead/catfish.  That was good.  I like smoked fish too - salmon, mackerel, trout.  With bagels/bread and cream cheese, or with scrambled eggs and toast.  I loved breakfasts in Japan because we always had plain rice, miso soup, tomatoes and mayonnaise, and sometimes a little bit of leftover dinner.  I like leftovers for breakfast as well.  And sweet baked goods are welcome occasionally , too (even cake and pie).

But most mornings I rely on cereal...sigh...

I tend to go through phases when it comes to breakfast; porridge or eggs or just yoghurt. Tea is necessary in the mornings. One of my favourite breakfasts is tea, pancakes and fruit. French toast is lovely as well.  ;D

My breakfast habits are pretty boring - a bowl of cereal with milk usually. Occasionally, I'll have eggy bread on a Sunday, but that's about the extent of it. My mum told me recently that she's eaten All-Bran for breakfast almost every day for 30 years!!

I love the idea of starchy things, but if I eat something like that in the morning I'm tired before lunch time!

I have to have protein and something more substantial than dairy - i.e. nuts or cheese or eggs. Otherwise I get really hungry. I wish I could just eat a bowl of fruit and yogurt but it's never filling enough. Same with cereal really.

I used to love yogurt and fruit, or sometimes scrambled eggs for breakfast.  Sadly, all that good breakfasty stuff is behind me since we can't really keep dairy or eggs in the house.  Most mornings I have a bagel with soy margarine (better than it sounds) or oatmeal.  I love hot cereals - oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, Malt-O-Meal... it's allllllll good.

Oh, and coffee.  Cannot live without coffee!

I'm not a huge breakfast fan, but I do eat it.  I usually have Weetabix/Oatabix with a scoop of Splenda and a sliced banana.
