Not if it's been sprayed with pesticides and stuff.

I have seen it for sale in health food shops, along with dried rose petals. Can't think of anywhere specific in London though, maybe try Neals Yard.

I thought you meant that some may be poisonous or something.

I would try farmer's markets.

A friend of mine sells hers at a farmer's market, so Yael's suggestion is a good one.

That, or grow your own. It's very easy! I'd send you some of mine, but I don't have a lot of it, and want to make sachets. Sorry!

Growing my own is a good idea, except I'll be moving back to the US next month :/

Sorry to hijack, but about growing lavender: do you cut back your plants every year?

We have a lot of plants in our front garden, but they look a bit dead and I don't know what to do with them.

Thx

Yup. I harvest the lavender right before it looks like it's going to seed. Then I cut each plant back so it looks like a small domed mound thing. Does that make any sense?

We have our own lavender too - a big bush in the back garden & one in the front.  Should I be doing something with it?  I just enjoy watching the bees go to it!

We need to cut ours back this year a lot more, because they're both threatening to take over the whole garden!
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

Unless you want to use the lavender for something, you don't need to do anything with it other than enjoy it!  But I would cut it back in the autumn.
