Hotel near the Embassy in London
« on: March 21, 2004, 11:34:26 AM »
I know that someone posted this somewhere but I just can't seem to find it. . .
Can someone make a recommendation for a hotel close to the Embassy? We have a 8 AM appointment so we will have to stay the night the night before.
Thanks!
Mel

The room was very nice,, modern, proper kingsize bed, with lots of pillows and had a great view of Grovsner Square :)  We paid about 132 pounds,, but I think I saw that the going rate right now is about 108?  The breakfast was a very good buffet as well. Also they have a japanese restaurent called Shogun which was very romantic. If you are facing the square, you can see the Embassy from your window. It's close to the Bond Street underground. If your appointment is that early, I would definately stay there for how close it is. I personally am not a morning person lol. Good luck!

Edit:

Actually Missy, it looks like the room rate varies. You may want to phone to see if they have any 'specials' going on :)

How did you get there? Did you drive your car? If so, was there parking at the hotel? I have always taken the bus to London - or stay at a hotel near the airport. Not sure what to do about the car  ???

We took the coach in to Victoria Station, and grabbed a taxi to the hotel. It was about 6 pounds for the taxi. It dropped off right at the entrance of the hotel, which was very convient. I wouldn't bother driving in if you can help it. I think there may be a parking area, but I would suggest speaking to someone at the Hotel, because I have a faulty memory lol.
