My Super Sweet 16

I saw an episode of this on the airplane a few days ago. Is this some sort of new US series?
It's a reality TV sort of thing with advantaged girls planning their sweet 16 birthday party. The one I saw the girls father spent over $400k on it! And the girl was such a little b*tch she said "I wanted to be the most popular girl at school and now I am!... I'm the prettiest AND most popular and nobody will ever forget my party"

Yep.  My former roommates used to love that show.  I spent a few Saturdays where we watched it to have a laugh at how bratty the girls on it were. 

I have seen several series of these.....and OMG they are the rudeest most obnoxious children God ever put on this planet. What their parents pay for these parties could feed a 3rd world country for several years and they are some of the most ungrateful wretches I have ever seen.......

one girl ended up with 2 cars and her parents paid someone over 50K to rent a house for her party for 1 NIGHT!

Uh, yeah... it's a new series AND there was a movie about it made. There's a local girl here who's party was on an episode also. Her dad owns a Mitsubishi and Kia dealership in town, and she had a huge 16th party. I haven't seen one on in a while, but for a while they were showing them all day on Saturdays and I saw a few. 

The episode I saw the dad owned nightclubs in L.A. She was flown in by helicopter to the party which was held at her dad's nightclub. She had a team of bodyguards around her and when she saw people there that werent invited she said "get them out now!"
Also if she danced with a boy and the boy got a bit too touchy with her the bodyguards threw them out. WAY OTT!! OH! I forgot this part. She invited her old school mates from Roswell to go to CA for the party. Two came. The one little girl told her bitchy friend she paid $5 for her jewelry at Target and the girl was so mean She said "All my jewelry comes from Tiffanys"       The girl felt really bad. She said "well I don't care. It looks good" I felt so bad for her.

I've seen that one. It was so mean when she made fun of her for having less expensive stuff. Who really cares?? These kids are being raised to be Paris Hiltons. Its' really quite sad.

I'm amazed that I'm typing this, but I think Paris Hilton even has a bit more tact than some of the girls on this show!

Stupidest show...ever...

Why does MTV celebrate stupid brats like that? Why promote people acting like complete idiots? Well I suppose you could say that about a lot of tv shows nowdays (BB).

I watched a bunch of episodes of it last year but had to stop. It made me too angry.

I can't even stand to watch the show.  I have seen a couple of them just for the shock factor.  It's like a wreck you can't stand to look at it but you can't look away.  The girls and sometimes boys on that show make me really mad.  I saw one show where a girl got two houses.  One in India and one in CA.  HOUSES!! she's 16!!!        I did however see one where the father showed some restraint, if you can call it that.  The daughter wanted the super expensive white BMW convertible, but her dad got her a less expensive BMW SUV.

To be honest, more recently I think MTV shows it to make fun of the girls.  I bet the show's biggest audience are people who are utterly disgusted by the girls, and MTV has to know that.

I love this show and have been watching it for years...it's car-crash telly!  I think Tyler is right -- MTV is just making fun of these kids now, and they soooo deserve it.
