Softball in the West Midlands - Men and Women
« on: August 31, 2007, 11:37:24 AM »
I play on a local team here in the West Middies - aptly named West Midlands Softball League.  We're one team called the League basically because we're the only team in the league.  We're a co-ed slowpitch team that meets every Wednesday at Aston Old Edwardians RFC in Perry Barr (close to Univ Central England), and sometimes at Lightwoods Field on Hagley Road in Bearwood.

This is an open invitation to my fellow Expats that live in/around Birmingham that would like to play.  There are no fees to pay - it's completely free!  We even provide spare gloves if you haven't got yours anymore.  All you need to bring is yourself.

At a normal training session we get anywhere from 12 - 20 players, and currently our training consists of half hours physical training/warmups/drills followed by a game until dark (usually an hour to hour and a half).  If, however, we get more folks to come by, we stand a good chance of forming a proper league next season.  Currently the "League" team is represented as the West Midlands Allstars at various tourneys around the country.
