Parking near Stanmore Tube?

i need to park near stanmore tube station.  no NCP nearby.  anyone with local knowledge please pipe up.  thanks!

There is a car park right there, but if you get there late and it's full, you shouldn't have to drive too far to get out of the "controlled" zone on a side street.  DF just recommended checking Merion Ave.  He thinks that is outside the control zone.

Usually the council restrict parking on the roads near the stations by saying...."No Parking M-F from 2-3pm"  It just ensures that people going to work don't park there all day.  And the spots are left open for locals doing their shopping etc.

Just try the car park at the station first, it should only be about 3-5 quid for the whole day.  But yes, if you park on the streets, read the signs.  :)

the boy says that stanmore station will be back b/c of the england game on saturday.  heavy traffic, difficult to park, etc.  any advice on this?

Hmmm...DF says he remembers people doing that, but doesn't remember it ever being a huge deal.  He doesn't have much advice other than just try the lot and then the streets.  You may have to walk a bit.  The good news is that there aren't any bad in Stanmore, so you don't have to worry about leaving your car anywhere dodgy.
