Opinions on Delta
« on: September 22, 2007, 10:20:14 AM »
Has anyone here flown from the UK to the US (or the other way around) with Delta recently?  My husband and I are flying with them in November, and I've read a couple of negative reviews about international flights with Delta, and was just wondering what to expect.  I'm not very picky, really.  I love Virgin, but it's not practical for visiting my parents unless I switch airlines when I arrive in the US, and I'm very hesitant about doing that.  I've flown with US Airways for my annual visit to the US for the past few years, but my parents have moved, and Delta was the best option this time.  I guess I just want reassurance that our flight won't be eight hours of torture and I won't be stuck sitting on a crate in the dark next to a goat and a man playing a harmonica. ;)

I can't make any promises about the harmonica, but I'm pretty sure the goat will have to go in the cargo hold.  ;D

Seriously, though - I've flown Delta from Manchester to Atlanta (9+ hours), though not recently (last September was the last time) but it's not as bad as I usually make it out to be!  ;D  I, too, prefer Virgin, and usually fly into New England on a Virgin flight and switch to AirTran, but sometimes you can't really beat the non-stop option.  The biggest difference is really in the entertainment area - no seat-back TVs, only one movie on at a time, etc. - but otherwise the service is just fine.
