Oh, ok I was just curious. I'm no expert, I only took one paper on that period at Uni and it wasn't about the clothing.  ;D

Well, as far as historical inaccuracies go....Catherine of Aragon was only about 5 or 6 years older than Henry, not the 10 or 15 years that the show portrays. Also, the mother of Henry's illegitimate son was more like 15, not 25.

I saw the show when it ran in the U.S., and there's a huge faux-pas in the later episodes when they completely mix up Henry's sisters.

Social codes and court scandals and the like often found their way into my degree for whatever reason.   :P  But hey, if you ever need to know Germanic codes of law, or how clothing represented social status to the Greeks, Romans, and Tudors, or socially accepted practices of some of these societies, I'm your girl.  I love my useless history degree.   ;D

Well, I've finally seen it...

- It's historically VERY suspect
- All the characters are pretty one dimensional
- It really has little value as a guide to what actually happened back then, and would     certainly not be of any use to anyone studying this period
-It's really just a soap opera, and basically a bit rubbish...

And I LOVE IT!!!  JRM is just too fit for words!  Yum!!!!!

 ;D

I totally forgot to watch it last week.  Got caught up in Dancing With the Stars and forgot all about it, even though my husband kept asking if there wasn't anything else I wanted to watch! Friday is a really bad night for a historical drama, why isn't it on Sundays?

Historically, it's appalling.

Artistically, it's Dallas meets the House of Tudor.
If you don't know where you're going, it doesn't matter what road you take.
