Meg lives near there, so it can't be all bad!
The DJ on BBC Tees was all up in arms about this while I was out running errands this afternoon - seems like he's not the only one, either.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/tees/content/articles/2007/10/15/rubbish_boro_feature.shtmlI lived in M'bro for six months; DH lived there for nearly 28 years (he spent three years in Oxford for uni). My FIL still lives in the same house Chris grew up in. Sure, there are less savory bits of the Boro...but there are nice bits, too. Just like everywhere else.

BUT, based on the way some people on UKY describe the cities where they live, I'm starting to think that Middlesbrough just has a bad reputation (and is therefore always given a place on the "worst" lists as a matter of course) and isn't actually one of the worst places to live.
I think you're right, Lola. The thing about M'bro, and Teesside in general, is that people from the area will be the first to mock it, but at the same time, most of them have such pride in being from Teesside.
