Guess what I have on my desk right now???   ;D

LOL!! We had a tin of each at Christmas, so I could just pick and choose. But the combo-tin would be the best of all!  :)

I've always thought the opposite!

I'm kind of partial to Quality Streets because they've been around for so long (1936), and the tins are lovely!

Roses.  Quality Street is good too, but I find more I like in Roses, plus I'm totally addicted to cadbury.

Out of the 2 then Roses - but can I make a vote for Heroes?

It was always QS when I was a kid though.

Do you have the tradition of a tin of sweets in the US at Christmas as well?

It's just not Christmas without that and the double edition of the TV guide!

No tins of sweets at Christmas in the U.S. that I can remember. I can't think of anything comparable.

The trouble with QS is everyone makes a grab for the Noisette Triangles and stuff and all that is left are the dang caramel disks.

Not in our house, as the caramel disks are my dad's favourite!

Whitman Samplers?  My parents always go to the chocolate shop in our town to get a selection.  I must admit it is much better than mass produced chocolate.

i saw Whitman Samplers on an expats online food shop and thought WTF?!?
Where i grew up, those were just the cheap chocolate that you would get in the drugstore.  Maybe they're viewed differently in other places.

I agree. See's all the way. I brought some back for my team and yet they still dip into the Roses.  ??? Too fresh for them I suppose.  ;)

It's just not Christmas without that and the double edition of the TV guide!

Of the two, in our house, it's normally QS that we have: not too sure why, though, other than hubby's preference maybe? I'm not bothered.

Growing up in Canada, we had Moirs Pot of Gold at Christmas with my family, which is boxed chocolate, rather than tinned.

The original company was started in 1815, when a Scottish immigrant, Benjamin Moir, opened up a bakery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, according to the website.
