Hello everybody! It's been a while since I've posted here, but I have a question--I hope this is the right thread for it. Does anyone have any personal experience with or recommendation for a medical escort service (i.e., companies that send a nurse or paramedic to accompany people with health issues on commercial flights)?
I've been in touch with one company (Commercial Medical Escorts) to get price quotes, and they seem knowledgeable and on-the-ball, but I have no particular reason to pick them over another company other than the fact that they were the first Google hit.
I'm asking because my mother (a US citizen living in the UK for the past 20 years) does not have long to live, and she wants to return to the US for her final months. Her breast cancer has spread to her brain, however, putting her at risk of seizures if she travels, so it is unlikely that an airline would deem her fit to fly unless she travels with an escort.
