Escape to the Country

I guess there's a new series now because suddenly I'm seeing ones that I haven't seen before. The one that's on right now is killing me - I've never seen one filmed in our area (though our old rental house was once the place that people were leaving on Location, Location, Location) and Catherine Gee is being fed a whole lotta crap!  :(

First of all, we are hardly in the country - more the suburbs, really. She started out much further out - in villages that I absolutely adore (e.g. Whitchurch and Ivinghoe) that are definitely more proper countryside. But then she went to Chesham (which has bits that are NOT nice and which I would not term as the sort of pleasant village to move to when escaping city life) and to Harefield which, though picturesque, is completely inbred and not even vaguely countryside (IMHO).  :P

And what's even more odd, she has a very generous budget to work with and was on the right track when she was out toward Tring. But then it all just went very, very wrong. Maybe I should try to get a job doing research for these programmes because I could have done MUCH better!!!

Anyone else seen one of these programmes about the area they live in?

When is the new series on??

I saw the episode of Location Location Location that was your old rental house!! Heee!!!

The last series of Location had an ep in this area. They spent a lot of time on the beach, as I recall! Phil was shot paddling in the sea with his trousers rolled up an awful lot more than he was trolling the local estate agents' offices! The couple on that ep was looking for multiple houses, including a second home around here. But, in the end, their budget was too small so they wound up only buying the one house.

I can't promise, but I THINK it's on Wed at 9. But it only seems to be on Living - not on "normal" tv anymore.... I'm pretty sure that's what the reruns are from at the moment though.

That was purely from memory - which is obviously faulty. I'll find it for you!

I think I'm watching the Chesham episode right now! The couple named Emma and Scott with £425K to spend? I couldn't sleep, so came downstairs and flipped on the old UKTV Style ... and there it was! I was sure it would be old episodes at this time of the night.

Edited to say: It is a repeat. Catherine Gee doesn't present anymore!
