Finding cheap flights within Europe
« on: April 13, 2004, 03:45:57 PM »
Hi friends,

Can anyone make some recommendations in terms of finding affordable intra-European airfare? I haven't even moved yet (I'm arriving the morning of April 22nd), but I'm already planning a weekend adventure in Geneva, hopefully for May 16th or so!  ::)

I'm not looking for anything extreme (Like flying with goats on a cargo plane or using Flash Airlines, where you are "gone in a flash"), I'm just looking for an "Orbitz equivalent" I guess or a recommendation on a good airline (I always had good luck with Delta flying out of Atlanta, for example). I heard Easyjet is good, if my appalling memory serves me correctly....

Many Thanks,

The Guardian recommends traveljungle.co.uk. I haven't booked through them yet but their prices seem really good.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Easyjet is pretty good, so is Ryanair, I have used both with no problems.

Try Jet2 (www.jet2.com)

They're like the Southwest Airlines of England. Actually, thinking about it, Jet2 might not help. They only leave out of Leeds/Bradford. But if you are up north, use them. They're dirt cheap. I'm going to Amsterdam with the folks in September for £9. You can go to Belfast for £1!
