going to Newcastle tomorrow, any suggestions?
« on: January 15, 2008, 08:29:55 PM »
I don't know if they are giving us free time or not, but I'm going to Newcastle for a network meeting for a couple days.  I suspect I won't get much free time, but if I do is anyone familiar enough with the area to give ideas of things to do that don't require a car?

If it's not raining, just walking along and looking at all the lovely Georgian architecture in the town centre is nice. The quay side is also worth a look with all the bridges and you could pop into the Baltic art gallery which is quite good.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

just had a duh moment!  I know why Nandos sounded familiar, I've been to the one here in Cardiff in the brewery district.  It was pretty good--and reasonably priced too.  I'll have to give the veggie burgers a try after reading Vicky's comment on them in another thread.  I had the piri piri chicken there.

Thank you all for your advice.  I'm off to finish packing and call a cab to get me to the office we're meeting at.  Hope you all have a good week!
