Bristol-Bath Railway Path
« on: February 21, 2008, 12:46:37 AM »
I love this path! Even if my poor bum was sore from my new bike I did the 16 mile trek yes I certainly did. And it was amazing!  Tons of species of tit.  Dog walkers, other cyclists (going much faster than me) and just a really lovely change from the city. It was easily one of the nicest days I've had in Bristol since moving here.  Salve for the soul.

Now, that being said, I'm posting for two reasons.

First: PLEASE sign the petition to prevent silly people from turning this wonderful path into a BUS route.

Second:  Any other Bristol-based walkers/ramblers out there?  I've started going on nightly rambles (just silly stuff like up to Clifton Bridge) but I really want to go on more serious daytime walks on some of the amazing paths rumored to be in this location

I've already signed the petition and along with many people, I don't think that will pass.  (fingers crossed!)

I'd LOVE to hit up some trails, I don't have a bike but love walking/jogging/hiking.   :)

Yeah...my bike and my backside aren't getting along yet. So pft to that anyway. I'm really a walker at heart. Best ever is the Chinese mountains! http://robinscanlon.typepad.com/ramblings/DSCF5752.jpg

Not my photo, but same place. Stairs as far as the eye can see! the group i went with took great pleasure in making fun of one another as we got higher up and the air got thinner and our ability to climb without wheezing disappeared.

Are you Bristol based then?

And back on the bike...I put it together myself (in a dress!) and the bloody thing already has an air leak in the front tire. So eventually I'll go take it to someone to get all put right so I don't kill myself on the bike I built...

Yup, I'm in Bristol not far from Gloucester Road.  Send me a PM if you wanna hit up a trail together!
