me again...
so i have not gotten anything back when i posted a topic so im back here.at a loss kinda..
my latest question is-do you think that it is ok to have my husbands most up to date pay slip scanned in(email) and printed out? as in- when we apply it would be the payslip that marks the 3 months.he actually will have been working for over 3 months but got paid cash the first week i think,then started getting normal slips.tax was payed though on that first week...

hubby has asked if i can post about the P60 and if this is important to include in the visa app..i guess it is a tax form of some sort?

and also just to refresh about my "topic" my husbands job is getting bought out around the week that we will apply.we are planning on including a letter from the old and new boss stating his position and that it is permanent.does anyone know if this seems ok?or any ideas on what to do?
any advice would be great!!
like i said i thought i was supposed to do a new topic but perhaps i should have just kept it here to make it easier..
sorry if this is totally annoying to anyone!
thanks,michelle

It's a bit easier when you just add to the same thread, like you've done here - I must have missed your new topic! :)

Why are you thinking about scanning the payslip?  Is it because posting it to the US will take too much time?  I'm pretty sure you'll need original payslips for your application, so you may have to wait until the newest payslip arrives before mailing the whole thing off.

A P60 is essentially the same thing as a W-2 - it's a sheet telling you what you've earned over the tax year and how much tax was taken out.  If it shows that he's been working for the entire year and has a steady income, it probably wouldn't hurt to include it.  It's definitely not a requirement, though.

As for the job being bought out - if both bosses are willing to provide letters explaining the situation then I should think it would only make your application stronger.

Hope this helps relieve some of the stress! :)

thanks meg!
yeah we were thinking that we could apply sooner if he just scanned the very last pay slip and emailed it or something.he sais they are just printed out from a computer on normal paper(kinda worries me) and not like mine here that are attached to my check and all official.
i figured out that mailboxs etc is the same as ups and they say they can get stuff here 2-3 days.so thats not bad!!
im getting really freaked out about time and am starting to wonder if i should go with some service!!!!!
if i can get it in 3 days then over night it to chicago then use a service then in theory things should be ok!
p60-he has not been working for the full year but it would show the three months,so maybe.might be a good idea to include something like this though if his payslips dont look that real.i havent seen them though.

glad to hear that about the job thing!!!i would think it would be fine as well!!!
thank you so much!i will just stick to this thread! ;)

While most of my husband's paystubs were originals, he sent in a few paychecks that were just copies since he didn't have the originals for those anymore. Didn't seem to have a problem with this.

i see,we will have the 3 months but this is the very last one that brings it up to the 3 months..i guess they just look like something anyone could print out,like i said this worries me..if i did this i would have to include a note or something just to make sure they dont suspect deception or something.
since we will only have the 3 months i obviously dont want to mess up!
but thanks!!!

We only included three months worth of paystubs as well. I'm sure it just depends on the processing officer that you get, but they don't always seem to be sticklers when it comes to originals. Our savings account statement was just a print out from the computer. Since I only get quarterly statements from the bank, and we had just switched savings accounts, there was no way I could get an original. I didn't explain this in my application either, but everything was processed just fine.

Yeah, I can't imagine them having a problem with that.

If it were me, I'd wait until I had all three originals to apply, even if the originals don't look all that professional.  across is right - it depends on the ECO - but I'd rather be safe than sorry, and considering that the majority of your financial evidence rests on these three documents - and considering that you're only submitting the bare minimum number required, unlike across - I'd want there to be no question whatsoever as to their validity.

I'd also leave out the P60, because AFAIK the P60 does not itemize by month - it just has a lump sum that was earned in a year.  You don't want an ECO to take a glance at the P60 and think that what your husband earned in three months is what he'd normally earn in a year! :)

ok,good to know about the p60,makes sense..also i guess i would not have it anyway due to him sending it to get the refund?
i dont know,i would like to think it would be ok but then i think more about it and start to go crazy(similar to the whole thing :)) and second guess everything..i looked into the expert visa service out of chicago that someone else on here just used and perhaps if that worked for them i will use it..then i would feel better about just waiting..i spoke with someone from there on the phone and he had one of those everything will be fine voices,he even said if i got it all to him by then end of the month i should be fine to fly may 6th.also that usually they dont straight up deny spouse visas for the uk but would tell me to provide more info or ask questions..i wish i knew if i would get an interview in person.i could just take the days off and go up to chicago and stay with friends and get it all taken care of!but like i said,this guy had a everything is gonna be fine phone voice!
i gotta get ready for work....thanks you guys!

hi there,
i'm ricky, michelle's (lucy17) husband, was just wanting to post a list of all the things i'll be sending her for the visa application, and would be greateful for some feedback! i'm also going to add my full budget, see what you think.

here we go
~Sponsor declaration, stating i have met & married michelle, am aware of the visa
  application and that i support it, also including summary accomodation, job etc.
~Birth Certificate
~Copy of passport, relevant pages verified as true copy by lawyer.
~Letter confirming rent and bills from landlord
 - also contains declaration that he has met michelle and consent for her to live in the
   house.
~Two documents from landlord
   one showing survey of house, description etc, and showing having adequate
   accomodation - one document is not an original, so i could not get it verified by lawyer.
   it is the document stating the acceptance of his offer to buy the house. pity it's not
   the original, which he can't find. however i also have...
~Two printouts from edinburgh council, showing his name and address, that he is the
   landlord, registered for council tax and not in receipt of 25% discount for living alone.
~3 months worth of Payslips
~3+ months worth of Bankstatements, annotated in pencil by myself. also shows i live in
  the house.
~Proof was in USA for 3 months leading up to Xmas
~Letter from Employer and previous Employers(company was bought) stating i am
  employed full time, hours etc.
~Proof of communication between michelle and myself (emails, texts, phonebill)
~Letter of Job Offer for michelle, stating hours, when starts and rate of pay.
~Job vacancies from Jobcentre + papers and employment agency business cards and
  brochures
~Budget, as follows.

Total wages (net) over three months = £2300.31

Average  net wage per month = £766.77

Average  net wage per week = £191.69

Total expenditure over 3 months = £1820.15

Monthly (NOW)
RENT = £200
ELECTRICITY = approx  £40
GAS = approx  £30
TELEPHONE/TV RENTAL = approx  £35
MOBILE PHONE = £50
( not very clear in bank statements, wasn’t billed for month and a half
  at which point it became clear texts to USA were NOT free. Also 3
  free months of insurance was given to me by company, which cancels
  out the costs as far as these months are concerned.)
FOOD =  £ 100
TRAVEL = £50 ( 4 x 5 daypasses for bus at £2.50)
CREDIT CARD PAYMENT = approx  £ 17
ENTERTAINMENT/MISC = approx  £100

TOTAL = £622

AVERAGE WAGE minus BUDGET TOTAL = £144.77 (monthly unaccounted for)

Monthly (Living Together, Michelle not Working)
RENT = £200
ELECTRICITY =  approx  £55
GAS =    approx  £30
(bills will be split three ways, we will pay two thirds. However with
the summer there will be less or no need to use central heating, saving
money here)
TELEPHONE/TV RENTAL =  approx  £40
(again, although a two thirds share, there will be
 less expense of phoning America which is roughly £25 per month)
MOBILE PHONE = £25
(this is the contact deal I have, which I thought included texts to USA)
FOOD =  £ 120
TRAVEL = £75
(Same for me, plus travel costs for Michelle)
CREDIT CARD PAYMENT = approx  £20
ENTERTAINMENT/MISC = approx  £120

TOTAL = £685

AVERAGE WAGE minus this total = £81.77 (monthly unaccounted for)

Monthly (Living Together, Michelle Working)
(with the extra wage from the job offered we will be able to spend more
 on things such as entertainment, food etc.)
RENT = £200
ELECTRICITY = approx £55
GAS = approx £30
TELEPHONE/TV RENTAL = approx £40
MOBILE PHONE = £25
MOBILE PHONE FOR MICHELLE = approx £25
FOOD = £150
TRAVEL = £100
CREDIT CARD PAYMENT = approx £20
ENTERTAINMENT/MISC = approx £200

TOTAL = £845

MICHELLE’S WAGES = approx £800
(40 hours times £6 an hour minus amount for tax)
AVERAGE MONTHLY WAGE plus MICHELLE’S WAGES = £1566.77

THIS TOTAL minus MONTHLY EXPENSE = £721.77

that's it, hope to hear any feedback. thanks for reading this...
ricky

many apologies as i feel this has perhaps annoyed people!!!very sorry!
please if anyone has any opinion on on our budget and stuff it would still be very much appreciated!!!
i feel like ive gotten off to such a bad start on this forum...

No worries, Michelle! :)  Just have Ricky sign up for an account of his own and he can post using that, so that we don't get confused.

I think what you have here looks good - the only thing I might change is how the budget is laid out.  What the ECO wants to see is that you'll have at least £92.80 per week left over after rent, bills and loan repayments are made - I'd probably show that like this:

Monthly Budget #1 (single income; Michelle not working)

RICKY'S WAGES = approx £766

RENT = £200
ELECTRICITY =  approx  £55
GAS =    approx  £30
TELEPHONE/TV RENTAL =  approx  £40
MOBILE PHONE = £25
CREDIT CARD PAYMENT = approx  £20

Total rent/bills/loan repayments: £370

Income left over for food/transportation/entertainment/misc.: £396 or £99 per week

FOOD = approx £ 120
TRAVEL = £75
ENTERTAINMENT/MISC = approx  £100

TOTAL = £295

SAVINGS = approx £100 per month

Monthly Budget #2 (two incomes; both working)

RICKY'S WAGES = approx £766
MICHELLE’S WAGES = approx £800
(40 hours times £6 an hour minus amount for tax)

AVERAGE MONTHLY WAGE plus MICHELLE’S WAGES = £1566

RENT = £200
ELECTRICITY = approx £55
GAS = approx £30
TELEPHONE/TV RENTAL = approx £40
MOBILE PHONE = £25
MOBILE PHONE FOR MICHELLE = approx £25
CREDIT CARD PAYMENT = approx £20

Total rent/bills/loan repayments: £415

Income left over for food/transportation/entertainment/misc.: £1,151 per month

FOOD = £150
TRAVEL = £100
CREDIT CARD PAYMENT = approx £20
ENTERTAINMENT/MISC = approx £200

TOTAL = £470

SAVINGS =  approx £680 per month

The first budget shows that you can make it with only one salary (the worst case scenario); the second shows you having no trouble whatsoever.

I hope this makes sense - it's getting kind of late here! :)  You'll probably want to check my math, too.
