Mace Windu and Pulp Fiction
« on: March 25, 2008, 01:23:05 PM »
I have made a fascinating discovery totally by accident.  I was looking at DVD's at one of the Hey Joe shops on 8th Avenue NYC and somehow happened to notice that the actor who played Mace Windu in Star Wars is the same actor who played in Pulp Fiction!

In Pulp Fiction he played a slightly mad hitman who canted postmodern noir and had a taste for teasing his victims before he killed them, and in Star Wars he played a Jedi of larger-than-life heroic stature.  What an astonishing range of acting talent!

Just because of this connection, I'm going to have to watch Pulp Fiction again.

I thought maybe people who liked either Star Wars or Pulp Fiction might be interested.

Big fan of both - it was Samuel L. Jackson.

Little bit of Pulp Fiction trivia - what was on his wallet when the diner was robbed where he and John Travolta were having breakfast.

Like he told Ringo, it's the one that says "Bad Mother**cker" on it.  :)

Just taking a wild stab in the dark from these responses, I am now guessing that my startling discovery is not as momentious as I thought?

Ever heard of a little movie called A Time to Kill?  ;D  Or, you know, Snakes on a Plane?

I'm usually the person who sits with a blank face going 'who??'   ???  while my friends are discussing some celebrity or other... but i think you've surpassed me on this occasion!

If it's any consolation, I've never heard of Mace Windu.

Or The Incredibles!  He played Frozone.

One of the few movies I've seen him in where he hasn't been able to say motherf*cker.  It's kind of one of his "catch phrases"

Unreal.

Frozone is a household favourite.  Even went to the O2 last year to see them.

Now I'm going to have to watch The Incredibles again.

This guy should be in line for an Academy Award!

Thank you, Vicky.  :)

It now becomes clear that this fellow is *established".

My immediate thought in seeing this award record is to hell with Obama, Mace Windu is the MAN.
