Finally bought a car! FREEDOM!!!
« on: April 09, 2008, 09:23:33 PM »
Sorry, just had to share my excitement. I finally bought a car!!!  I'm soooooo over Inverness public transport (it took me 3 buses, 3 miles of walking, and 3 hours to get somewhere on the other side of town and back the other day, and this isn't exactly a big place) and since I finally felt comfortable enough with the Inshes roundabout (ha- if you live up here you know what I mean!) I finally bought myself a car. (Really though,  I finally had enough dosh saved up to pay cash for one, since I knew I wouldn't get a good car loan rate). Yeah for freedom from bus schedules (or lack there of around here!). Yeah for being able to go somewhere now!  Those of you have been there know how exciting this really is!!

OMG when we finally bought an automatic (I've never mastered a manual) that I could drive I nearly wept with happiness the first time I went to the grocery store by myself!  :D Congratulations - enjoy it!!!

Oh I tell you, that's what I am looking forward to the most, is going to the grocery store and being able to get more than a few items, so that I don't have to go to Tesco every other day- and to not be limited to only Tesco's!

A Honda Civic Hatchback- 1.6 i-VTEC SE Executive 5dr- its really nice, got leather seats, sunroof, CD player, A/C, ABS, alarm and immobiliser
A bit stodgy and "Gramma like", but I very roomy and drives pleasant- plus, I need the boot space for hauling my musical instruments around to practices and gigs

ha ha, my problem was all the shopping I was able to do at once and then remembering I still had to carry it up 2 flights of stairs!  :P

Congrats on your new freedom.  I know what you mean about Inverness public transport!  Congrats also on conquering the Inshes roundabout.  Almost screwed up my driving test on that beast!
