Why not buy a small Tupperware-like container and decant your cream into that?
Actually now that you mention it I remember Tupperware used to have covered creamers. Maybe I can find one on Ebay.

He wakes me up at "silly o'clock" in the morning with his glass bottles clanging away on his milk float!   :(

Our milkman comes while I'm in the shower so I don't hear him, but dh said he finds the noise comforting - the little weird electric motor noise, the clink of the bottles.... I probably wouldn't like it much on a Saturday, but he only delivers Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!
