Last minute advice
« on: May 23, 2008, 03:57:11 PM »
Just wondering if there is any last minute advice or anything anyone wants to share. Tomorrow is the big day, I get off and on butterflies lol.

I think I got everything covered, all my stuff is packed for my MIL's, at least I think so!

I appreciate any tips/advice!

Thanks
-Steph

this sounds weird, but try to really concentrate during the ceremony.  Since we're having a second wedding in the States we had a pretty bare bones ceremony anyway, but it went so quickly and is a little bit of a blur, which I wish wasn't the case.

Great advice! I will definately keep those ideas in mind.

I think it's important to pay attention, that's a great reminder. My best friend got married, and I asked her what she was thinking of when she was getting married, she said she kept trying not to cry and kept thinking about how her heels were sinking in the grass lol

Stealing your man away is romantic! Great idea

Also not sure about the morning drink lol, my MIL should have something but hopefully it won't come to that! lol

Thanks again!

Plan your photos!  We've got tons of candid shots of our wedding, but only a couple of posed ones.  If I had to do it all again, I would have asked someone to make us to pose for shots outside of our gorgeous town hall.  And there was a beautiful sweeping staircase and everything!  GRRR!  Oh, well....

I also second what Kathleen said about having a few moments alone with your new husband after the ceremony.  Between the ceremony and the reception, we escaped to a cafe and just sat and talked.  It was lovely.

Most of all, relax, have fun and congrats.   :)

I know I am late getting to this, but I hope you have a wonderful day for your wedding.  :D

Seconded. I don't remember anything about my ceremony, I was in such blur. Well, I remember the pastor saying "axed" instead of "asked" a lot. :)

Im late on this thread as well.... I know your getting married in about an hour and just wanted to say good luck and I hope you enjoy your day and the rest of your lives together as husband and wife.  :)

As for me what I was thinking during the wedding, I was trying not to cry as well and I think my legs were shaking like a leaf.. and since my dress was just passed my knee everyone saw as well and FIL still jokes about it!  If i could do one thing again it would be same as meebs... have someone designated to take the photos because in all our wedding photos (we didnt have a professional) im looking one way at one camera and DH is looking another way at another camera and the ones with my in laws in them we're all looking in 4 different directions.. grrr..

Thank you all soooo much for your kind words!
It was the most beautiful day, I couldn't have asked for better(besides having my family there of course). It was such a happy, not stressful day (although to be honest the whole morning until I saw him I was shaking and nervous!) we all had fun, and there were so many little moments I keep looking back on and smiling!  I'll post some pictures tomorrow at some point! I love this board :) Thanks for your help and advice. xox
