Big Brother 2008!!!

Hi. I'm not a regular poster on this forum but do my fair share of reading up on topics here. May I join in the BB discussion? I used to enjoy discussing BB on other forums. 

I wasn't sure whether to bother this year but I thought I'd try to annoy my husband as he has annoyed me watching so many Top Gear reruns ever since the Dave channel came into existence. 

Did anyone catch the part of the show where they were introducing the housemates one by one? I thought the introduction for the dancer from Edinburgh was hilarious! He pulled this hilarious face when they showed him sitting on the floor in a "provocative" pose. He looked like Lon Chaney from the Phantom of the Opera...lol.

I'm studying for exams, so I haven't been keeping up quite like I should.  After Monday I will be glued to the tv though!

Unfortunately, Euro 2008 is coming so DH and I will be fighting for the remote control.  Maybe this is a good excuse to get Sky in the bedroom?

PS My husband watches Top Gear all the time as well.  Uggh...

Caught up on it this morning. No real impressions yet except the 'cookie' girl from Thailand. She cracked me up, but I think she'll get irritating fast. The spin with the blonde girl having to act like Mario's gf was pretty good since it completely cramps her style and you know she wants to hook up with the guy that looks just like Anthony from a couple years ago.

pkmac, I felt the same with the Thai lady. She had this amazing entrance but I wonder if she'll simmer down now that she is mixed in with the others.

It's early days yet on impressions but I'm not sure if I like the girl that did the most screaming - sorry, I can't remember her name only that she appeared to be wearing a long grey T-shirt with a belt that was waaay too short.

Does anyone else recognize the Thai girl? Husband and I are both sure we remember her being on the first round of the X-Factor. We definitely know her from something and think that's what it was. I think I'm gonna like her.

I think this is a better mix of people than the last few years.

I have V+'ed last nights and tonights and I am going to try to catch up with them, however, I might lose interest quickly.

I know Mikey (blind one) was a bit over the top with his thong dancing last night...but I thought those two girls ganged up on him like a pack hyenas! And how rude of that girl (Alex I think her name is) when he was trying to have his say..derailing his conversation by repeating the word disrespectful over and over again....I thought she was being disrespectful at that point.

Never liked her from the beginning...she has a face I could smack quite easily.  She is way to high on her horse with no reason to be there as far as I can see.

The large girl that screams all the time and wears the Denim rah rah skirt I find really annoying.

Totally agree about Alex (No prizes for guessing who Mikey is going to put up for eviction!) 

I didn't think he did go over the top though, it was just a bit of a laugh, he didn't know what it was or even who they belonged to.  Anyway, why were they there in the first place!  If I was that precious about my undies I'd keep them close to me, or at least close to the rest of my belongings.

I took notes on the opening nights, my first impressions and predictions (I know, it's a bit geeky) and I've already changed my mind about at least 4 of them 

I thought that too...I was wondering why she was so upset about him wearing her knicks when she left them in the bathroom by the bath taps...I thought it was a bit skanky of her leaving dirty undies in the communal bathroom when you share a house anyway! dirty girlie!

I totally agree with you on Kat. She's cute and all and seems really sweet but there is something about her that is starting to grate my nerves. Did anyone see her in the Diary Room saying "nananana" or whatever she was saying? I thought my husband (who despises the show) was going to smash the telly at that point. I also find her a bit childish for her age and extremely naive. I don't wish her a bad time in the house but I can already envision one of the several outspoken housemates making her cry.

Oh, and Dennis is HILARIOUS full stop. I was laughing so hard when he was in the DR with the others talking about Steph and whether she was an actress. 

I DO NOT like Alex. I hope she goes early but people might keep her in there to be the villain. They were so rude to Mike.

Well I already dislike Alex. I think she's just nasty.

And Kat is annoying me. Her cookie fetish is very gimmicky if you ask me.

I think that Mikey will walk this one. He'll get the sympathy vote, unless he turns out to be a total butthead.

I really liked the wedding task but Steph was just annoying. I just wanted to say to her "just get on with it" but she was probably too afraid of looking stupid. She looks stupider for all her whinging.

Oh my god, I'm so annoyed with Mario now. He's so trying to play this "look at me, I'm taking care of the disabled person" guy for votes. I can't believe the scene he made out of nothing in the kitchen. Nothing Steph said was aimed at Mikey or had anything to do with Mikey. Mario just made himself look like an ass when he kept shouting "Mikey has a disability!" I felt bad for poor Mikey standing there going off. Mikey being upset and crying was all Mario's fault.

Yeah, Mario was a txsser last night.  Nothing about that whole argument/scene had anything to do with Mikey!  He lost my vote straight away (if he ever had it).  Alex is another one that is on my shortlist to go, guess we'll have to wait another week.  Unless she does something miraculous she's definately up next week.
