How old were you when....?

I grew up in the middle of nowhere so we didn't have things like that - so 19 or 20, after I went off to Uni

How old were you when you first realised where babies really came from?  

I was 9.  Somebody in class used the word F*£K and explained in graphic detail what it meant.  I went home and told my mother all about the new word I learned.  She came into my bedroom that night with a chalkboard, and I got the birds and the bees discussion.

How old were you when you could go to the movies with no parents, just friends?

Twelve/Thirteen years old. I know it was when I took health class in Middle School.

How old were you when you got your license to drive?

I was 18 years and 3 months old. I started learning the day after my 17th birthday and it took me 15 months of weekly lessons, plus 2 failed tests (with 2 months between each of the 3 tests) to actually pass!

How old were you when you first felt like a grown up (as in you had to make your own decisions and you realised that life wasn't as simple or easy as it seemed when you were young)?

I was 17 and moving into my own sh$thole umm small studio and had to get gas/electric turned on and realized there were deposits! Ohh the joys...

I never had a curfew, my parents didn't really like me going to clubs, but didn't mind pubs which used to shut around 11:30, so I was normally home by 12:30. I was at the oldest 14 when I started doing this I think (I was tall, and um, well developed), we would go as a big group, play pool and have a couple of drinks. I moved out at 16 so obviously did what I wanted after that.

How old where you when you made ou for the first time?

19, oddly enough with my boyfriend.

How old were you when you got married?

Got married the 1st time when I was 23 (I think, ha) I never remember that one too well. Married again at 34 ;-0

how old were you when you paid for your own monthly internet connection?

22, first time on my own and not in a dorm

How old were you when you tried sushi?

I try not to eat anything that lived under water (not a political stance - I just haven't found anything other than tunafish sandwiches that I like) but I was probably 20 when someone made me try it anyway.

How old were you when you learned to swim?

4 with armbands, 5 with the funny foam board things.  I think 7 unaided.

How old were you when you first cooked a meal for a romantic prospect?

How old were you when you read your first chapter book?

I'm not sure, but very young--I was more advanced than the rest of my class in reading as early as first grade. (math was another story altogether!)

How old were you when you first left the US?

14 - dad drug us to Paris and stuff (I so didnt appreciate being draggin away from my boyfriend to Europe for 2 weeks) God I was dumb

How old were you when you knew you wanted to be a mom?

Ever since I can remember, I knew I *didn't* want to be a mom.  When I was very young I pretended I was a mom to a cat-baby (my stuffed cat) and that was as close to being a mom as I ever imagined.
