Submitted my student visa app... fingers crossed everyone!
« on: June 27, 2008, 12:26:01 AM »
I got it to FedEx at 6:55pm and realized that I hadn't made copies of all my originals. Luckily the guy said that they weren't ready to ship, so I could do that real quick (Yay for FedEx Kinkos combo office).

Long last day at my job, looking forward to visiting family for two weeks but haven't started packing for the trip (which begins tomorrow), freaking OUT that my passport is out of my hands a month before I'm traveling... *sigh*

Anyway, just thought I'd vent a bit. Now I need to eat and then go pack! :)

Do they keep the originals? I completed my biometrics and mailed my application on a sweltering day in HOTLANTA. I had to drive all over the city in my car with no A/C... that being said my brain was mush and when I realized I wanted to make copies I would have been late for work so I just mailed the originals...

Will I not get those back?? opps... oh well I guess.

I didn't send copies of anything with my student visa application and I got all my originals back.

I wasn't sure if I would or not but I have visions of disaster (I have that kind of luck) wherein my application got lost. I mean, my brain was so fried that I almost forgot to sign my application itself! But good to know I'll get it all back.

I did finally get an email that they've received it. Now just waiting for them to let me know it's on the way back to me. (fingers still crossed... toes too!)

Yay! It is approved and UPS should deliver it tomorrow. I'm so happy. One less thing to stress about.

I submitted my application last Tursday. I got email notification that it was issued today. I should get it next week! Yippi and I don't have 100% of my funds yet. Will they check your full funds when you arrive too??

I included the following:

    application
    passport
    photos
    acceptance letter from my university
    transcript from my undergrad degree
notarized copies of my bank statements and other financial info
receipt from payment of my uni deposit
copies of my travel itineraries (because I asked them to date it for 5 weeks before term starts)

Well, I don't know what to do. I don't have a copy of my diploma and it takes about 3 months to receive a new one. :-[

I just ordered a transcript from KU's Office of the Registrar. I'll bet you can call yours and if you're willing to pay they can overnight it. A copy of my diploma would have taken ages but the transcript they got to me in a few days. If you live anywhere near there, you might be able to pick one up?
